Ingiloys are historically populated in the
territory of Azerbaijan, in Zagatal, Balaken and Gakh areas.
This ethnos concerns to the Caucasian language group. Since
XIX century they lived in these regions and differed from local
population by some local properties. Ingiloys are the Muslim
Georgians believing in Islamic religion. They speak on one of
17 dialects of the Georgian language. This subethnic group is
named Azerbaijanians by local population after acceptance of
Islamic religion. "Ingiloy" means " accepted new religion",
"a new way to religions". The history facts prove, that Ingiloys
lived in Georgia in the past, and during the modern period live
only on the Azerbaijan ground and are connected by the history
of this country.
