WHERE IT IS POSSIBLE TO STAY

In village visitors, travelers can settle down for dwelling or for nights lodging in houses of local residents. Houses are of typical construction for mountain settlements from river stone with earthquake-proof wooden linings. Basically buildings are one-storied. Floors in the houses are wooden, covered with oriental carpets. Walls of houses inside are plastered by clay covered with lime and veiled by the carpets made by grandmothers and great-grandmothers. Homes are cosy and clean. Inhabitants use water from springs located in 20 steps from a house. Bathing is unavailable in houses. Toilets are located in courtyards of houses. Type of a toilet is Asian. In the center of the settlement there is a food bench. One family living in the house can receive from 4 up to 6 persons and arrange them in 2 rooms for nights lodging. On the average one family is located in 4-5 room house with a courtyard and economic constructions (a shed, a bakery, a warehouse). For heating houses brushwood or dry dung fuel (manure in briquettes) since in vicinities of the settlement there are no woods, only a bush is used.

For visitors' breakfast owners of houses can offer dairy products - cheese, curds, cheese mass (шор), the brought down butter, for dinner - Lezghin pilaf with sorrel (avelik), dolma with leaves of a string bean, meat sauce (bukhlama) from a beef or mutton, for supper - dishes with a string bean, eggs, sour-milk products. Before meal they always offer tea with jam of own preparation, or with sugar.

In houses there is no gas, the electricity is available in the evening and in the morning. In houses there are no also refrigerators, too. For storage of products they use deep cellars under houses. In houses there are the TVs accepting the republican program АзTV-1. Only in one courtyard there is a satellite aerial.

Tourist Pension "Suvar"

Persons interested in comfortable accommodation can stay in the tourist boarding house "Suvar", located in one km higher than Lazah, along the gorge of the Gusarchaj.

The boarding house functions all-the-year-round. In winter it is a lot of snow here. One can also make ski walks on gentle slopes near the boarding house.

The Pension has comfortable rooms in cottages located separately.

- Single rooms (cottage5) - $50 a day with breakfast

- Double-seat rooms (cottage2) - $70 (the whole premise) a day with breakfast; at an arrangement for weekend - $100 (the whole premise) with breakfast

- Three-seat rooms (cottage4) - $150 (the whole premise) a day with breakfast

There are bathing, cold and hot water in cottages. Illumination is round-the-clock; the emergency generator is also available. There is a construction of a football field, volleyball and tennis platforms. In a boarding house there is a cafe, too.

The snow on slopes around the boarding house lies from November till April. At this time ski walks are possible. There are English-speaking employees in the Pension.
