HOW TO REACH
Hynalyg
is located in a mountain valley of the Gudjalchaj
River, on the left coast of which the mountain Hynalyg
(3713 m.below the sea level.) is dominated over
adolescents of the Lateral Ridge of East Caucasus.
Distance from the regional center of Guba up to
Hynalyg makes about 50 km.
The
road leading to Hynalyg has a gravel covering, and
in some places it passes on the exposed rocky sites,
through canyons of the rivers Gudjalchaj, Hynalygchaj.
The road represents long steep slopes and descents
and passes on rocky steep walls of gorges. Such
difficult sites of the road make more than half
of way. Other part of the way passes on a valley
of the Gudjalchaj and its headstreams. On a valley
of the river the automobile track passes directly
on its channel, where there is a set of fords. It
is necessary to overcome these sites - fords with
extra care, since large stones constantly rolled
on a river bed can damage the bottom of the car.
One
can reach Hynalyg only with motor transport of the
raised passableness and "Jeep" type cars. It takes
over 3 hours to go all the way in 50 km. Up to One
can get to Hynalyg also on the other road through
the settlement Alpan. This road is less dangerous,
but badly equipped with set of stony sites and potholes.
Extent of this road in 63 km is overcome for 6 hours.
The most safe, but very long road up to Hynalyg,
passes through gorge Tengin. Its extent over 80
km is overcome for 8-9 hours. It is possible to
get to Hynalyg from Guba having agreed at the bus
station with owners of cars of the raised passableness
- inhabitants of Hynalyg. The fare there and back
makes approximately $70 (rent of the whole car).

PROGRAM
OF TWO-DAY ROUND TO BUDUG
Day
I
-
First half of a day: departure Baku; arrival, change
on off-road cars (UAZ) and round in Hynalyg; picnic-lunch
on a coast of the Gudjalchaj.
- Second half of a day: arrival in Hynalyg and accommodation
in rural houses; excursion in Hynalyg, acquaintance
with a household life, ethnography of settlement;
supper with local dishes.
Day
II
-
First half of a day: breakfast; excursion to "Burning
Mountain" on horses or afoot, tea drinking and lunch,
the review of vicinities (the fantastic kind on
surrounding districts from here opens); returning
to Hynalyg; dinner.
- Second half of a day: returning to Guba, wherefrom
to Baku.
